Cynthia Ann Cichorski, known professionally as Cindy Morgan, famously portrayed the captivating Lacey Underall in the beloved 1980s comedy “Caddyshack,” where she starred alongside Chevy Chase, Bill Murray, and Rodney Dangerfield.
While “Caddyshack” remains Morgan’s most iconic role, she also graced the screens in other notable productions, including “Tron,” “CHiPs,” “Falcon Crest,” “Bring ‘Em Back Alive,” “Matlock,” and “Hunter.” According to IMDB, her most recent contribution was voiceover work for the film “Face of the Trinity” in 2022.
Unfortunately, news of Morgan’s passing has surfaced. Donna Ratliff Ballenger Cheatham, listed as Morgan’s emergency contact, shared the somber announcement in a Facebook group, stating, “I want to regretfully inform Cindy’s fans that she has passed away. I received the call on New Year’s Eve night. I have been awaiting further details and will provide updates as I receive them. May she find peace and soar with the angels.”
TMZ corroborated this sad news, reporting information from the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Morgan’s roommate, returning from holiday travels, noticed an unusual odor emanating from Morgan’s room and, upon receiving no response, alerted authorities. Upon entering Morgan’s room on December 30, 2023, the police discovered her lifeless body. Morgan had last been seen alive by her roommate on December 19th. While authorities are investigating her death, foul play is not suspected, and it’s presumed to be from natural causes.
At 69 years old, Morgan’s untimely passing has left her loved ones and fans grieving. Ballenger Cheatham, a former roommate and Morgan’s current emergency contact, was informed of her passing on December 31, 2023.
