There’s no denying that this person’s appearance elicits strong emotions. Some burst into laughter upon seeing them, while others find their unconventional smile and unique appearance so unsettling that they can’t bear to look any longer. In short, nobody remains indifferent—they either react with amusement or discomfort, prompting comments from all sides.

In simple terms, we’re talking about a distinctive “character” who was often labeled “Ape Man,” “Bearded Girl,” and “Woman with a Bow.” This intriguing individual captivated large audiences, yet not everyone realizes they performed in circuses.

First and foremost, we’re dealing with a man, not a woman. Unfortunately, his birth name, exact birth date, and the identity of his parents remain unknown. It is believed he was born in September 1901 and went by the name Simon Metz.

His unique appearance opened many doors, leading him to a career at the circus. Raised by his surrogate father, animal trainer George Curtis, who treated him like his own son, he was given the name Schlitzi at the circus.

Tragically, he passed away in 1971, leaving the world in tears and sorrow.
